Ancient Greece is often viewed as an outlying bastion of gay inclusivity in the pre-modern world, and if modern Athens is anything to go by, this may just have been the case. Arguably Greece’s most liberal city, Athens is home to a bounty of gay bars and clubs just waiting to be discovered.
Athens' gay village of Gazi caters to a diverse range of interests and tastes, and you’ll find glittering drag palaces alongside some slightly less polished, but still exhilarating, bear bars and cruise clubs. The best thing? There's still plenty more to explore outside of the main gay area!
