Koh Samet Gay Scene

Popular open-air bar & restaurant with a dance floor, located at Silver Sand Hotel on Ao Phai beach. This place is regarded as the unofficial gay bar of Koh Samet.

Silver Sand gets busy around midnight and attracts a mixed crowd, with more gay customers from Bangkok on weekends and public holidays.

Gay men can be spotted anywhere on Koh Samet, but Ao Tubtim is especially popular with gay visitors, many of whom stay at Tubtim Resort, one of oldest resorts on the island.

Located next to Ao Phai, Tubtim is a bit quieter and has a small, secluded beach area. Besides sunbathing and swimming, gay beach volleyball games take place here in the late afternoons/evenings.

Tubtim Resort's restaurant is gay-popular hangout, with open-air seating area right by the beach, and serves a large menu of Thai and international food.

During peak season, the beach is extra busy with gay cruising/outdoor action after dark.
