Harlem Pride 2025: performances, events & hotels

Harlem Pride 2025 Celebration Day will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event will be held on 12th Avenue at West 135th Street on Harlem's Westside. This celebration is one of New York City's significant Pride events during Pride Month.

About the Event

Harlem Pride Celebration Day features eight different events during the last weekend in June, attracting more than 20,000 visitors. This event is specifically for Harlem's Same Gender Loving, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer community, making it a unique and culturally significant celebration within New York City's Pride festivities.

For 2025, Harlem Pride is introducing the "Kween & Qing of Harlem Pride" competition, celebrating individuals who embody service, advocacy, and pride within the Harlem LGBTQ+ community.

History and Significance

Harlem has long been a refuge for the gay community, dating back to the masquerade parties and drag balls of the 1920s and 1930s. Over the past decade, the neighborhood has become even more popular due to its more affordable housing and proximity to Midtown's theatre district.

The Harlem Pride celebration began in 2010 and has grown significantly over the past years to become one of the most important Pride celebrations in New York City's five boroughs.
